Professional Fees
Please keep in mind that co-pays/session fees are due at the time of service. Dr. Cheney does not accept credit cards. Dr. Cheney accepts insurance, cash or check and offers the following payment options:
Please note that Dr. Cheney is unable to accept Medicare or Passport/K-CHIP/Medicaid plans.
Upon request, Dr. Cheney will provide a receipt for tax purposes or for flexible spending accounts.
- Fee-for-service. Dr. Cheney accepts fee-for-service payment. With this payment option, Dr. Cheney would not bill an insurance company and is instead paid directly by the client. Dr. Cheney’s fee for psychotherapy is $155.00 for a 60-minute session and $225.00 for a 90-minute initial evaluation.
- Insurance. Dr. Cheney is currently a participating provider or "in-network" with Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and Humana/Lifesynch. For additional information regarding co-pays/fees for psychotherapy, please read the next page entitled "Insurance."
- Out-of-network insurance. For clients who have other insurance plans, Dr. Cheney can provide documentation to submit for reimbursement if they have “out-of-network” benefits. "Out-of-network” benefits cover psychological services with the clinician of your choice and sometimes require a patient to pay a deductible (if not already met), and then reimburse a certain amount of the fee after that, typically 75 to 80%. If you would like to inquire about out-of-network benefits, please call the member services number listed on the back of your insurance card and request to speak with someone regarding your benefits. The customer service representative can assist you with information regarding co-pays/fees for out-of-network services if applicable.
Please note that Dr. Cheney is unable to accept Medicare or Passport/K-CHIP/Medicaid plans.
Upon request, Dr. Cheney will provide a receipt for tax purposes or for flexible spending accounts.
